Dr. Priya Palimkar, recently presented her paper titled “Nightmares in the Cath Lab” at the CRISP conference held in Mumbai on October 20, 2024. Her presentation highlighted critical challenges and complexities encountered during cardiac catheterization procedures, shedding light on real-world experiences and offering insights to enhance patient safety and outcomes in interventional cardiology.

BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS CONFERENCE

Dr. Priya Palimkar had the honor of participating in Nag Foundation’s The 12th Indian Breast Cancer Survivors Conference on 17th & 18th October 2024. During the panel discussion, she contributed valuable insights on the journey of breast cancer—from diagnosis and treatment to addressing the side effects that certain drugs can have on the heart and body. She emphasized that some cancer treatments can lead to reduced heart function and cardiomyopathy, stressing the importance of regular 2D echo screenings to catch these changes early and avoid long-term heart damage.

Dr. Palimkar also highlighted the concerning statistic that, despite awareness, cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer among women globally.
